1971

In 1971 Harold and Gail Moran set out for Texas from Arkansas with a dream, faith, and a lot of determination. They had to borrow the money it took to buy tires for the car to get there.

The Morans started out making mattresses and furniture for the mobile home industry. They soon shifted from there to selling to retail stores. By the end of 1978, demand was growing and things were taking off. The next few years required a lot of faith and wisdom as the client base and the territories grew. It seemed like everyone wanted a Corsicana bed. Managing this growth with grace and serving clients, getting the products they needed to them was what they focused on.

1990

When Harold passed in 1990, Gail and son Carroll leaned on each other and God and plunged forward in faith.

Carroll dropped out of college at age 19 to manage sales for the family business eventually becoming the CEO and, side-by-side with his mother, the company became one of the largest bedding manufacturers in the United States. They focused on taking care of their people: family, customers, employees, and members of their community in Corsicana TX.

2014

The Morans successfully sold the business in 2014 and continued to plow their skills, experience, and resources into numerous ventures, both commercial and philanthropic.

2020

Upon Carroll's unexpected passing in 2020, the family again had to lean on each other and plunge forward in faith.

We are now in our third generation of family leadership with Jacey Grider taking up the torch. GiGi (Gail) is still at her side, as well as the longstanding steadfast support of many old friends. Covey Co. is what we now call this multigenerational project of building businesses, serving our community, and igniting the dreams of people just like Harold and Gail Moran.

We're grateful for what we have, aware of our responsibility to share it with others, and looking to the Lord to continue to lead and provide all that we need to serve Him and our community.
